I seen the light

As I walked to the grocery store in 17 degree weather on Sunday it didn't quit feel so cold. Yes, finally the sun was out. Seriously I think that is the first time I have seen the sun here this winter. I was beginning to think I was going to need one of those lamps. You know the fake sun ones ( I can't think of the technical term right now). If it weren't so cold I would of stayed out read my book and enjoyed it. Needless to say it was still damn cold even with the sun out, besides my laundry was calling me. Yeah exciting weekend, cleaning, grocery store and laundry. Ya'll though the big city was all fun and games huh.

Scortcher

So it hit 45 degrees today. Whoo Hoo, heat wave. Only in the north would they say it is hot outside and it is only 45. I guess when you compare it to temps that have been in the teens yeah it felt just like Miami! I must admit thought I did only have to wear my fleece jacket, could I be getting use to this cold stuff :)

Trip to the ATL

So I got a really cheap flight and was missing my southern bells so I headed to GA last weekend. We had MLK off of work so I figured it would be a good time to go. I flew in early on Saturday and spent most of the day at Kelli's with her new puppy Murphy. His brother and sister came over to play. They were all so cute but it made me realize I am not ready for the responsibility of a puppy. Especially when Roco, peed in the house like 5 times :).

I finally met Presley Mize on Saturday. My friend Stacy had a little cookout and we all got to meet her. Of coarse she liked me best. I really think it has something to do with the big boobs. Babies just love them...hey if you got em', use em'. She was so good though, never really cried the entire time. I have a feeling she was just showing off, and she really is different when it is just her and Mommy. Thanks for having us all over Stacy, she is just so darn cute.

On Sunday I got my Jesus on at church and headed to my friend Cari's to spend time with her and the boys. Nothing too exciting but exactly what I needed. I miss everyone so much. It has been a little hard to meet friend up here but time will tell.

My flight got delayed almost 3 hours on the way home. Freakin snow in Jersey, I swear. So I got home pretty late and the next train didn't leave until 11:30 pm. I ended up having to spring for a cab. Needless to say I was not happy but hey....

$46 for the cab
$13 for tolls and tip
cost of hitting my pillow, before the first train would of even left, and not having to walk and carry my luggage through the snow, PRICELESS!!!!

My Commute

So as I walked to the train this morning in the freezing weather and the snow I cursed not having a car. But honestly it was finally the "Pretty" snow everyone was telling me about. Just a nice walk in the snow, no ice just soft flaky snow. It was damn cold though I must admit. But the best part of all about my commute today is when a plane makes an emergency landing, due to a bird strike, in the Hudson River; I can catch the train home and avoid all the traffic. Only in NY. Shout out to New Jersey Transit!!!!

I said its Great to be a Florida Gator!

Twice in 3 years!!! I kind of wish I still lived in GA to rub that in :) Um...wasn't GA ranked #1 at the beginning of the season. Poor Dawgs.

So as usual I took my camera and didn't take one picture of the festivities so ya'll will just have to use your imagination a little.

I met my friend Brooke out at The Village Pourhouse (bar in the village if you couldn't guess) to watch the Gators kick Sooner ass! Luckily her friend Jen, another fellow Gator, got there early so we had a few tables in the back. It wasn't a Gator Alumni bar but hey we got beer, watched the game, and had a seat. What more could you ask for. I guess a little Gator rowdiness would of been nice but Brooke and I represented for the entire bar. The TV by us was messed up so the color only showed Orange and Blue. Like we really cared about any other color anyway :). We both drank Blue Moon beer. For those of you who aren't beer connoisseurs Blue Moon is served with an orange...ere go our Orange and Blue beer. Brooke probably didn't even think of that but I certainly did when I ordered the first round.

I must admit it was totally different than watching the game in the South. Something about watching College Football with a guy in a suit next to you just ain't right, but hey do you son. I think I was the newest transient at the table so I still had that SEC blood running through me still. I spat off stats while Brooke and Jen guessed, but hey they held their own for being so far from SEC college ball atmosphere. The first half had us a little scared and unfortunately allowed for some of Jen's friends to talk a little smack. Even though we made it very clear if you are at our table you are rooting for the Gators, damn it. But leave it to the British guy (I don't' even know his name, whoops) to be the trash talker. Stick to soccer homeboy, we got the college football thang alright. :)

You know you are not in the south when the half time conversations consist of bachelorette stories including a blow up penis and a girl saying "Man if I had a big old penis like that I would be sticking it in everything." Toto I don't think we are in the south anymore. But leave it to my mother to drunk dial me after every big play so I got the FL flava, play by play after all. Overall I had a GREAT time. I wouldn't of wanted to spend it any other way in NYC, friends, beer and of coarse another National Championship! GO GATORS!!!!!!

Same Everywhere

So men are the same everywhere. I met this guy for coffee. He seemed really nice 38 well established blah blah blah. I wouldn't really say it was a love connection but still nice to have what might be considered a date. Well we made plans to watch football on his big screen. I was a little apprehensive to say yes but hey I got my mace just encase. So long story short he called and said his place was a mess and wanted to come to my house. I told him OK but was going to go to a local pub and watch it. He ain't coming up to my house like that. Shoot. But he called about 20 minutes later and claimed he needed to take his sister home. First of all you are 38 shouldn't your sister be old enough to take care of herself. Needless to say I never heard back from him. You would think being nearly 40 he would of had a more creative excuse than that but I guess not. So turns out some guys are just assholes no matter where you live, but at least I got one semi-date under my belt.

Lets Play Catch Up

So to all my adoring fans and my secret blog stalkers, I apologize for keeping you waiting so long.

As many of you know my Mom came for Christmas this year. I was just not going to spend another Christmas in shorts and a t-shirt in FL when I had NYC at my disposal.

Christmas night we went to a semi-fancy dinner at Rockefeller Plaza. We ate over priced food and watched the skaters rink side. What else could be more NY you ask, well Radio City and the Rocketts of coarse. I surprised my mom with tickets and it was so worth it. I mean of coarse I bitched about it being too short for the obscene amount I paid but really I wouldn't of wanted to spend my first Christmas in NY any other way.

The day after Christmas we spent all day in Macy's and only spent $17. I was so proud of us.
Nothing too much else exciting she mostly want to chill and relax so we spent a lot of time in Jersey.
Monday was back to work after I woke up at 3:30 in the morning to escort my mother to the airport. I swear we have totally had a role reversal more now than ever.
Tuesday I met my friend Brooke from college out for a drink. Shout out to Brooke if she is reading this :) It was a nice chill spot and yes we even hit Happy Hour. 2 beers for $6 that is the type of NY I can handle. And the best thing of all was when the lady behind me for some stupid reason decided to pick up the candle on the table and she set her hair on fire. Yes you heard me right. And that shit STUNK!!! Gotta watch those hair products lady. But seriously is anyone surprised that happened while I was there. I mean it wouldn't be a night out with me without some weird ass crap happening in my presence.
New Years was pretty quiet as well. I just stayed home and watched poor Dick Clark on TV. I mean does anyone else think he needs to retire or is just me. I mean dang. There was suppose to be over a million people in time square and only 1 degree temp after the wind chill. Me and my PJ's were just fine in the warmth of the apartment.
I woke up New Years day and had pulled my back something awful. Still don't know how but it still hurts like hell. Guess I am getting old. So I laid on the couch and watch college football all day. Too bad most of the games were all blow outs.
Its amazing how quick I can sum up 2 weeks huh. I want to wish everyone a Happy New Year and no matter the distance we share I hope each of you knows I think of you all the time and miss you very much. Here's to living fine in 2009!!!!
